Lisa - Director

Lisa has had a lifelong passion for sport and fitness. She has always been involved in team and individual events. Has a long standing history of captaincies and has competed at state levels for athletics, swimming, field hockey, and has a black belt 1st Dan in martial arts.  She competed at the CrossFit Australian Regionals in 2012 & 2013 for the CrossFit SPS Brookvale team.

Her passion for helping people and seeing them achieve their goals is what motivates her. Being able to touch and change people’s lives has given her the passion to pursue her career in the fitness industry. With over 16 years experience, she has continued to increase her knowledge through every aspect of the fitness industry. She has worked with a broad spectrum of people, from rehabilitation right through to State and National level athletes.

She has not only studied in Australia but has also worked and studied in the UK and in the USA where she has gained invaluable knowledge, working with some of the best Olympic coaches in the business and also had the opportunity to work with some top Physiotherapists in Australia.

Alana (GM)
              
Alana has always been involved in sport from a very young age. As a child she represented Queensland in Surf Life Saving and Swimming.  She also represented her region at the state titles for Touch Football and was chosen to represent Queensland at the Nationals for Soccer. She competed at the CrossFit Games Australian Regionals in 2012 & 2013 for the CrossFit SPS Brookvale team and more recently has been competing in the Australian Masters League.

In 2011, she stumbled onto CrossFit and after one visit she was hooked. "I left after that first class feeling like I had done something so different than what I had done before."


The classes were a challenge, consistently varied and high intensity interval training and strength training, was exactly what she had been missing.

Sergio

I have been involved in sport since I was very young. I was 3 years old when I started competing in judo.  I represented my school in soccer, volleyball, handball, basketball, Olympic gymnastic, parkour swimming, surfing, judô, jujitsu and even chess! 
  
My focus has always been around a healthy and active lifestyle and this led me to studying Physical Education in Brazil.  I completed a series of specialised courses to become a better professional and to help my students & clients.

In Brazil, before I came to Australia, I was a Physical Education school teacher. I also coached both professional & amateur athletes in Footvolley.  I started CrossFit when it came to Brazil.  I enjoyed the challenge and diversity of it and as such, decided I wanted to continue to help people and share a great all round workout experience, so I went and did my CrossFit Level 1 certificate.

I would like to share my knowledge and experience, motivate and help people reach their goals.

Carol

Carol’s love of sports started at a young age and has seen her achieve state representative level in gymnastics, athletics and hockey.

Following an ACL reconstruction in 2013, Carol was prompted to try CrossFit as part of her rehab.  It is fair to say she was hooked from day 1!

Although a strong gymnastics background is an advantage for many of the movements, Carol’s all round strength and conditioning benefitted from the CrossFit approach and she is now stronger than at any other time.

Seeing how much she had benefitted from CrossFit, Carol wanted to share this benefit with others and completed her Level 1 Trainer’s Course in May 2014.  She now gets a huge amount of fulfilment out of helping others to achieve their fitness goals through CrossFit.

“I personally love CrossFit. I love to participate in the sport, but most of all I love watching and helping people improve their strength and fitness in a safe and structured environment.”

Although I have been working in the Fitness Industry for many years - when I did my first CrossFit WOD I knew I had come across something special - something great! 

It’s not just the incredible results these workouts produce, it's being challenged to your limit in new ways every day which creates an addictive euphoria that I have come to love helping others experience.

Sean

Sean has always had a passion for health and fitness. He played many team and individual sports growing up. However his main physical activity has been martial arts, having trained now for 18 years. He holds a black belt in Okinawan Karate, and is currently working towards a black belt in another discipline.

Looking for something to improve his ‘fight’ fitness, Sean’s CrossFit journey began the day that CrossFit SPS Brookvale opened when Lisa put him through his paces, which ended up with him in a heap on the floor exhausted. After that he was addicted. Fitter now than what he ever was in his 20’s, Sean quickly saw how efficient and effective CrossFit was for any sporting person or athlete, no matter their chosen field.

Previously being a personal trainer, he now loves sharing this new training experience with others helping them so that they can achieve better results and learn more about this amazing activity called CrossFit.

Jake

Jake played a lot of sports from athletics, basketball, water polo and has represented his State in swimming.

He has a black belt in tae-kwon-do and played 15 years of rugby league as his most dominant sport. He played in the Hunter Academy of Sport Team, the Knights Junior Development Teams, and SG ball. 

Since leaving the Knights system, he played first grade with Cessnock and it was then he was introduced to CrossFit as an off-season fitness source.  The following season he was noticeably a lot fitter.  This is when he went back to CrossFit and never left.

"I picked things up really quickly and started studying and obtaining numerous CrossFit and lifting Certificates and further learning by attending Seminars. 

I completed all this while owning and running CrossFit Singleton.  At the same time, I worked in the coal mines as a high voltage electrician and also a part of the mine rescue team.  Due to this, I have Advanced First Aid, Advanced Resuscitation, Vehicle Rescue, Vertical Rope Rescue, Fire Fighting Urban and Rural.  At present I still work shifts for the Coal Mines and back enjoying my passion for Coaching and Personal Training."
